Very good latin fare for reasonable prices, bar prices were also good for cocktails. My take-out beef stew w/rice ("Carne Guisada") was $8, hearty and flavorful. Friendly spanish-friendly bar staff. Kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but this sort of place is what makes the Silver Spring area interesting for going out.

This place is awesome! It seems that restaurant owners lurk in the shadows and pounce on restaurants as they start to go under. This was once called The Lizebeth Cafe and the revised location is a great addition to the neighborhood. The staff and regulars that frequent this establishment are way beyond kind! I grabbed the standard Pollo a la Brasa (8.95) and the Chuleta de Cerdo Frita con Cebolla, Tomate y Chile (10.95). The chicken was very moist and not over the top spicy. 1/2 of a roasted chicken served with a side salad and rice. I asked for rice and beans and I was surprised to see a version that I love arrive.. Moros y Christianos!! You boil the beans and reserve the liquid to boil the rice and add sofrito! (Word of the day- Sofrito- Google it!) The second item ordered was plain and simple... Fried smothered PORK CHOPS! (Chuleta de Cerdo Frita con Cebolla, Tomate y Chile just sounds much better when you say it!) Crispy and juicy awesomeness! Nice balance of heat! This place offers Breakfast/Brunch every day! The standards like pancakes, french toast, steak and eggs, breakfast burritos and stuff like that... Oh... Side items.... All of the usual suspect.... Did I say that you can get an eggs on that??? $2.25! Pasta??? Seafood linguine. Bologese and a Cioppino styled dish with pasta!!! One item that caught my attention, but I was too full to order was a "BLAT"- Bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato sandwich!!! I have seen DJ equipment here on occasion but I am not sure if it was for a special event or not.. Definitely will swing back!

Delicious pupusas and chicken plate for a reasonable price! My boyfriend and I tried out Odalis last night since we were looking for an affordable new place to eat within walking distance of where we live. It was slightly after dinner hour and we found a seat easily. There was loud Latin music playing and flashing lights, but it was not too loud to have a conversation. There was a large projector on the wall showing a football game. The cheese pupusas were really really good, especially with the spicy slaw that comes with them. We also enjoyed a grilled chicken dish we got that came with rice and salad. Compared to the restaurants around it, Odalis is a good casual option with reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back.

I never went here when it was Lizbeth's Cafe; it was on my breakfast to try list. However, Odalis II (the original in DC proper) is A-OK. My pal and I stopped in for a quick bite; we ordered some cheese pupusas. So, we weren't big spenders, but we also weren't all that hungry. They were really good, and just $1.50 each. They came with the traditional slaw, which kicked up the flavor of the cheese only pupusas, which by nature are somewhat bland without the topping. As the other reviewers stated, and Bryan W. said it best, the staff was "beyond kind." The place is a bit dark, but clean. It would be a great place (and probably is) to watch a soccer match over a few beers (and pupusas for me).

Not a horrible late night meal, but not the best. I ordered the carne asada (see my photo) well done, but the steak was dry. Good thing salsa was on top to revive it. The sliced tomatoes in the salad had spots and core and the lettuce was frost damaged so I skipped it altogether. The white rice had nice seasoning but a tad dry. Salsa helped with that as well. I won't be rushing back here.

I ordered the 1/4 chicken with two sides. The chicken and rice was tasteless. The Yucca fries were ok. The meal was cheap so I tried not to complain much but I won't be returning to Odalis. Super Chicken is way better!

Bottom line up front: value-priced, but mediocre-tasting, Peruvian-style roasted chicken. Details: as nearby in-walking-distance neighbors, we have been frequent take-out customers of this establishment over the past several years, both in its previous happier incarnation as Lizbeth's Cafe and, more recently albeit dramatically more sadly, as Odalis. The people who work here are friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the prices are cheap (under $15 dollars for a whole chicken and two side orders, enough to feed a family of four). Unfortunately, the food completely underwhelms. The signature whole roast chicken itself is pretty tasty and nicely seasoned. However, in the past few times we've tried Odalis, the must-have green and white sauces accompanying the chicken have been bland and very boring. Who said to hold the spice? Likewise, the fried yucca (another must-have side dish) has been plain and insipid, so much so that we simply threw it out (which is a cardinal sin in our household). We so much wanted to like Odalis and be able to tout it as an inexpensive source of good home-cooked food, but no can do. Instead I urge you to avoid it in favor of numerous other local Peruvian chicken shops which deliver superior taste at the same price. In particular, I recommend Sabor Latino Restaurant at the corner of Flower Ave. and Piney Branch Ave. or, slightly farther afield, the always-wonderful Senor Chicken at the corner of University Blvd and New Hampshire Ave. in Langley Park.
